Howard's is a Farm Implement dealership and a NAPA Store that is owned by Jerry and Jan Howard. Jerry is the fourth generation to own the business, which was started by his grandfather 125 years ago.
J.E. Howard, a Wichita City Commissioner, started a feed and seed mill in Wichita in the late 1800S.
In 1905 he and his son C.R. Howard purchased property in Mount Hope. The business was called Howard Mills.
In 1909 they began selling kerosene and gasoline. They also sold LP gas and were the first LP dealer in Kansas. They also operated seven gas stations.
R.T. Howard took the business in a different direction after his father died in 1934. The same year R.T. Howard purchased the business.
In1948, Howard’s became a Massey Ferguson, Hesston and Krause dealership.
Jerry Howard started working at the dealership when he was 12 Years old and began running it when he was 20. Jerry and Jan purchased the business in 1966.
The business was a full line dealership for Massey Ferguson, Hesston, Krause, Bush Hog and MacDon until 2007. At that time they became a short line dealer for Brillion, Bush Hog, H&S Rakes and numerous other lines.
Howard's Inc. has new and used parts for Massey, Hesston, MacDon and Krause equipment.
